Memorial of Murdered Jews of Europe, Berlin, Germany

Image
Memorial of Murdered Jews of Europe , Berlin, Germany Tired of tyranny,  Bruised by barbarism,  Slapped with savagery,  Ruined by Racism. Caged and raged,  A bond prolonged,  Banned and hanged,  Their race was damned. O! The Aryan Blood,  O! Nazi nobility,  German purity-  All such an irony. Der fuehrer the God,  Nazism the religion,  The Germans his disciples-  Does heaven ever have bloodbath? Falsity everywhere-  What now!  A famous lie -  Common man’s truth. Racism- the joke,  Hitler the joker,  Juggling balls of-  hatred and vengeance. The world watched,  hooted and jeered,  the jester continued,  Destroying the show of peace.  All quiet,  None courageous The joker won  The jews cried-  Tired of tyranny,  Bruised by barbarism,  Slapped with savagery,  Ruined by Racism. - Devansh Dewra

Santorini, Greece

Image
Santorini, Greece The Sunkist Island of Santorini, How picturesque, how beautiful, Painted with strokes of blue and white, Finer than the finest painting. The candy-coloured houses, Carved into cliffs, The chalk white buildings, The cobalt blue domes. The waters sapphire, Cleaner than ever, The black sand beaches, Oh! What a contrast. A kaleidoscope of colours, Fading starlight, Greco-Roman wonder, Just like a fairy-tale. -Devansh Dewra.

Michelangelo’s Depiction of God, Sistine Chapel, Vatican City.

Image
Michelangelo’s Depiction of God, Sistine Chapel, Vatican City. Thy holy father, With a beard so white, His children enthralled, Illuminates the sky. What art Michelangelo! Can god be so simple, Is he just a normal man With a wrinkled face. Look up and find god, he looks down with acceptance, Are they angels- Or blessed men. A graceful stroke, A gentle prayer, How natural are they, For His love and faith. He touches his children, With affection, Oh! naked Adam, Let Him Cover your innocent self. He wont judge, He will embrace In his loving arms, So soft and pure. He is separated by sin, Still the man tries to touch, Each child of his- Every creation of his. -Devansh Dewra.

The Artist's Garden at Giverny, Musee d' Orsay, Paris

Image
The Artist's Garden at Giverny, Musee d' Orsay, Paris Painting by Sir Claude Monet. Who can believe that oils Can melt into something beautiful? Purple irises, sunkist leaves Beauty personified, soaked in a breeze.  When a painters palette is the world without, And his brush - his soul within You ask yourself in doubt What is illusion, what reality? -Devansh Dewra.

Shoes on the Danube Bank, Budapest, Hungary

Image
Shoes on The Danube Bank, Budapest, Hungary These shoes are worth more than us, But remember we will share ‘hell’. You may massacre us and shoot us, But after all we remain eternal. Even our shoes remain eternal but you don’t, Because now they are worth more than you. You considered us priceless, you sold our shoes, Those shoes today are receiving more roses than you. We stay bonded together on this beautiful bank, While your thoughts make people cry, They pray to god you rot in misery, While we live in bliss and never die. -Devansh Dewra.

The Leaning Tower of Pisa, Pisa, Italy

Image
Leaning Tower of Pisa, Pisa, Italy The great tower of Pisa, Leans down to mother nature, Oh! The mighty clouds, Circling its arches, a halo so beautiful! How can it ever fall? Reverend nature blesses it, Oh! The skies so high, Gently kiss its peak, the breeze so tender! Thrice of a hundred years, A mistake so miraculous, Was it man or nature herself- Dressed as roots so soft. -Devansh Dewra.

Memorial to the victims of communism, Prague, Czech Republic

Image
Memorial to the victims of communism, Prague, Czech Republic Here, we stand on this step, Stripped off, crying, begging, Hurt, tortured and dead, Repenting and turned into art Our shame for show It was our fault after all No matter what you gave us It was we who took the sip The deadly sip of communism.  We believed in your hypocrisies, We believed in your fallacies, We believed you had united us, We believed that the deadliest poison you had given us Was the manna from heaven You gave us the Devil in disguise And we were all shattered forever. Now we stand forever without fear We have given it all, we have nothing to lose We have nothing to lose, nothing to fear We stand brave today, we stand immortal. -Devansh Dewra.
